A TIME TO REMEMBER-

【心上人】Sweetheart
This art piece was inspired by a Chinese proverb “心上人” which brings the meaning of “the person on top of their heart”. In English, we call them as our ‘sweetheart/dearest’. During this Movement Control Order (MCO) period, many couples who experience long-distance relationship couldn’t get the chance to meet up face-to-face.
This art piece is therefore dedicated to love birds who never stop loving each other despite the long distance when they both are still long to be reunited, as the saying goes “absence makes the heart grow fonder”.

[MCO GOT TALENT]
Despite the MCO period, people still find ways to connect with each other. We get to spend more time with ourselves and our family members, while not forgetting our neighbours and friends too!
Cheers to all of our talented friends and communities who shared joy and brought positive vibes to us during these difficult times! :)

[We are all in this Together]
When we were in school, we used to draw people of different races in their traditional costumes for Malaysia day or national day to show unity in diversity.
However, I have observed a different kind of unity during this MCO, a kind of unity that transcends race and religion, where everyone optimized their ability and resources at hand to ease the situation a bit, creating a better place for each other.
Thus, I’ve drawn unsung heroes like food providers, medical front liners, police officers, charity volunteers, face shield making volunteers, food delivery men, public transportation and logistics drivers and janitors in one line, to emphasize that we are all in this together.

[Productivity]
I believed every student is having their classes conducted online.
Although students are not allowed to be physically present in class, a lot of them are assigned with overloaded amount of schoolwork and assignments which can be hectic for students.
It is totally fine to take a break from schoolwork and indulge in entertaining stuff like watching Netflix and eating sweet snacks (but don't do it too often!)
Hope everyone is doing good and being productive during this MCO period and do not let the phrase "staying at home" limit yourself from being productive!

[My MCO visual diary]
This depicts a visual diary of daily routines of a woman living with two cats during the coronavirus “lockdown” — working from home, working during this quarantine period, living on dozens of takeouts, having spent Hari Raya alone and away from family members, celebrating birthday in solidarity, learning how to grow 'pak choy' at the balcony, and perhaps finding joy (or some dread) in mundane and ordinary everyday chores.

[Miss you]
We all have that one person who always lives in our hearts that we want to spend more time with, especially during this MCO.
COVID-19 hits us hard. New norms like working from home, online learning and virtual gathering are slowly evolving in our daily life.
As part of my MCO routine, I am counting down to the time where we can hook on call, meet virtually, on every single day.
I mean, I can't wait to meet you physically when the pandemic is over. I just wanna say stay safe,
See you soon.
Love,

[The New Normal]
Despite the fear, this pandemic has made, being forced to stay home isn't a bad thing after all :)
It's a chance to pause our hectic lifestyle, slowing down to catch up with people/ things that really matters, having some time to self reflect and build new routines. Hopefully, people who enjoyed the MCO lifestyle while having to head back to work in the office, finds a balance between both lifestyles to be your new norm.
Don’t forget that happiness can come from simple little things such as knowing your old oven still works; and laughters can come from an accidentally burnt cake.

[Edible Love]
Human connection became infinity under this finite situation.
Pastry has become a warm regard from one person to another during this MCO period,
So much can be said in a little dough, whispering love letters into our hearts despite being far apart, a form of love and care added with some magical personal touch.
Some people picked up new hobbies,
Some people supported local businesses,
Some people brought smile to another’s face.
Here I am, sending my warmest love to you :)

[The Pandemic]

The pandemic,
the contagious hospitals,
people are dying, they are saving lives.
A pinky promise
between the heroes and victims,
to fight against the demons in the darkness
before dawn.
The other side of darkness,
It’s me and you.
Life is forced to a halt,
we are slowing down,
relaxed.
[ Tambah 2 minggu lagi ]
The Movement Control Order(MCO) started in Malaysia since 18th March had made remarkable moments in every Malaysian's life!
Never knew that my family and I will find the excitement from waiting for the Live News announcement from our Prime Minister every 2 weeks with hopes of resuming our daily outgoing routine.
To our disappointment, what we've heard throughout these 2 months was:
"Tambah 2 minggu lagi"
"Tambah 2 minggu lagi"
"Tambah 2 minggu lagi"!
Although the MCO has restricted our movement, but it doesn't restrict the way we discover our hidden talents.
